Daniel BurkettLexington, OH – Daniel Burkett started out a little slower than usual in the beginning of Saturday’s qualifying session, but dropped the fastest lap on lap 9, then shortly retired to the paddock. The K-Hill Motorsports driver’s fast lap is now the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course track qualifying record for the Atlantic Championship Series with a 1:16.295. Starting next to Burkett in the afternoon’s race, is Atlantic Creations’ Jimmy Simpson. Ethan Ringel, Keith Grant, and Michael Mallinen round out the top five. Daniel BurkettLexington, OH –Daniel Burkett, the up and coming Canadian driver from K-Hill Motorsports, had the quickest times in both practice sessions held on Friday and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Burkett set the fast lap in practice one with a 1:16.775, and then beat his own best time in session two with a 1:16.388. Burkett has been dominating the Atlantic Championship Series season in his red Swift 016 Atlantic car. Look for him to take pole and be have podium finishes in Saturday and Sunday’s events.

Daniel BurkettSalem, NH – The Atlantic Championship Series will be running rounds seven and eight of their 10 round season, this Fourth of July weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. After completing rounds five and six at Virginia International Raceway in June, the Atlantic Championship Series has past the halfway mark of its season. This is point in the season in which drops start making a large difference in Championship Points. Similar to the F2000 Championship Series and the Formula 1600F Series, the Atlantic Championship Series will drop each driver’s two lowest points scoring races from calculations.

Daniel Burkett is on pole at VIRAlton, VA – After suffering from mechanical issues on Saturday’s session that prevented him from running the race, Daniel Burkett from K-Hill Motorsports, set fast lap and secured his fourth pole position in the Atlantic Championship Series. Atlantic Creations driver, Jimmy Simpson, will be starting second this afternoon after swapping fast lap with Burkett multiple times throughout the qualifying session. Matt Miller of COMPREP will be starting third in round six at Virginia International Raceway.
